About the Festival

The Aharit HaYamim festival began in 1994 as a tribute to Emil Leuchter, father of the Leuchter family, who was an American-born musician who played with Shlomo Carlebach, the Diaspora Yeshiva Band, JBB (Jerusalem Blues Band) and many other artists. The small jam-session tribute which began at the family's backyard a year after he died grew into a full fledged festival and is considered a unique Jewish Music Festival in Israel.

The forested location of the festival is in Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem – near where the Leuchters grew up. For the past seven years it has been taking place in Old Massuot Yitzchak. The site itself was established by Leuchter's kibbutznik grandparents in 1945.

In this year's festival there will be two live music stages, lessons and workshops in Judaic topics, spiritual meditation, Jewish ecology, an arts & crafts fair, plays and a an activity area for children. Food and drink will also be available.

The Festival also provides a stage for lesser known artists and musicians to present their talent to the participating public. Previous festivals have hosted artists such as: Ehud Banai, Aharit Hayamim, Aharon Razel, Sinai Tor, Kach Oti Lemala, Nachat Ru'ach, A-Groyse Metzia, Bini Landao and many others…

The Festival's purpose is to be a place of unity and joy.

The Festival is a non-profit venture.
